About Me:

Griffin Wilson is a second-year Master’s student in Instrumental Wind Conducting at the University of Southern Mississippi, studying under Dr. Catherine Rand. They earned their Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in May 2023 under the guidance of Dr. Melody Causby.

In 2024, Griffin attended and conducted at the Michigan State Conducting Symposium, further refining their craft and gaining valuable insights into the art of conducting. A dedicated educator, Griffin has taught lessons to students at all levels—from beginners to advanced collegiate musicians—and has been invited to teach at numerous middle and high school clinics and band camps. Their commitment to education also includes actively participating in recruitment and clinic events to bring new talent to the University of Southern Mississippi.

Griffin has participated in masterclasses with esteemed artists such as Yu Tamaki Hoso, Jim Markey, Abbie Conant, and Joseph Alessi, among others. Beyond teaching and conducting, Griffin is an active performer, maintaining a busy schedule of gigs on trombone and guitar throughout the year.

Outside of music, Griffin enjoys spending time on the golf course and relaxing with their cat, Igor.
